As part of its ongoing effort to maintain and upgrade roadways, the City of Upland Public Works Department has continued to include street improvement programs in the city’s capital improvement plan. Improvements are scheduled on an annual basis according to need and available resources. This plan has been prepared by the city with revenue coming from Gas Tax, Measure “I” and other state and federal funding sources.
Repairs to the streets in the city will include crack filling, slurry sealing (application of a thin coat of asphalt onto the surface of the roadway along with overlays and in some cases complete reconstruction). The intent of the repairs is to protect and extend the life of the streets. When complete, the safety of motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians will be enhanced and the asphalt roadways will be improved.
Notice of actual work and parking restrictions will be posted on affected Streets at least 24-hours prior to the commencement of work.
Construction activity in residential neighborhoods will generally take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Construction activity on arterial streets will generally occur Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
